2MW 2024 - 2025

 We hope your families had a wonderful Thanksgiving break! Here are some second graders at the SCS Thanksgiving Feast last Tuesday! 

 We had two special guests on Friday…one human and one alpaca!  Gracie’s dad was kind enough to visit our K-2 pod on Friday morning to be our chapel speaker! It was such a gift to have a parent and local pastor bring a message from God’s word to our students. Thanks Pastor Brown!  ..and we can’t say that we’ve ever had an alpaca visit our class before! Josie’s parents sent an alpaca-gram in honor of her birthday, and our whole class got to say hello. Here are some pictures below :) 

 We are working hard to deepen our knowledge of a topic to become an expert! Our nonfiction focus has brought us to the point where students have chosen their topic of focus and are reading many books on that subject. We will share more as we get closer to our “Nonfiction Museum” in December. Here are some pictures of our nonfiction readers at work! 

 Second graders finished their How-To books and decided to read their final product to kindergarteners! We stopped by Mrs. Lunt and Miss Chmielewski’s kindergarten classes to pair up with a younger student and share our work. We love being the “big kids” who are able to model excellent work, mature behavior, and build community in our pod. Here are some pictures of that day!
